Your adventure into the professional levels of recreational diving begins with the PADI Divemaster program. Working closely with a PADI Instructor, in this program you expand your dive knowledge and hone your skills to the professional level.

 

COURSE STRUCTURE AND STANDARDS

PADI Divemaster training develops your leadership abilities, qualifying you to supervise dive activities and assist instructors with student divers. 

During the PADI Divemaster program, you learn dive leadership skills through both classroom and independent study. You complete water skills and stamina exercises, as well as training exercises that stretch your ability to organize and solve problems. You put this knowledge into action through an internship or series of practical training exercises.

Once the basic training is over you will assist the instructor with diving activities to expand your knowledge on being a dive guide. You will be involved with all aspects of being a dive guide, from writing crew lists via check-in/out procedures, tank filling, to guiding small groups. At first you will be the main dive guide's shadow to learn the trade. You will then swap roles and, under the supervision of the instructor / dive guide, assume the role of the dive master of the boat. Finally you have the chance to be the second guide on the boat and be able to lead a group of divers independently.

COURSE PREREQUISITES

- PADI Advanced Open Water & Rescue Diver or Equivalent. (Equivalent is proof of certification in Rescue Dive training from another training agency and proof of CPR and first aid training). 
- Proof of 20 logged dives to begin training and a total of 60 logged dives to obtain certification.
- Minimum age: 18 years.
- Submit a medical examination - within the last 12 months - from a Physician stating fitness for diving.

ADVANCED TRAINING

PADI proposes advance training to its members at all diver levels. One you have an Divemaster Certificate as a PADI Professional, you may either follow the PADI Assistant Instructor or PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor programs.
